IT was a moving experience for all.
Four people from different walks of life investigating their exertion over two days.
Their perceptions then collided with reality in the form of a series of measurements recorded on an activity tracker strapped to their wrists.
The quartet were a businesswoman, a tradie, a stay-at-home mum and a retail shift worker.
A Fitbit Versa recorded their steps, heart rates, floors climbed and active minutes.
Craig Simpson, 31, is a floor and wall tiler and the only one of the four with a paid job involving physical labour.

He wore the Fitbit across two days of work.
At the end of that time Craig could not believe how much activity he actually did on the job.
“I was so crazy to see that on a standard day of work, I do the equivalent of climbing 53 floors,” he said. “It was interesting to see the results that I wouldn’t normally think about.”
Leisa Furlong, 37, has the physically active, unpaid, job, of looking after three children.
She wore the Fitbit during two school holiday days and recorded the 10,000 steps each day recommended for better health.
“My daily steps are incidental from running around after the kids and the household so it was cool to see them recorded,” she said.
Corporate analyst Laura Keoghan, 25, did the least amount of steps.

“As an office worker I was conscious that I didn’t do much activity during the day, and try to get out of the office at lunch,” she said.
“Also whenever I was stressed during the day, I seemed to elevate my heart rate for that hour or so.”
Luke Austin, 25, works in retail, a job not always associated with the idea of physical activity, and was shocked at how many steps he did over a six-hour shift.
“The stats were fascinating as I do exercise regularly but never actually considered the stats that the Fitbit provides, such as my heart rate,” he said.
“In a busy working environment, I’m not usually considering how much walking I am actually doing so it was great to have them recorded the whole time and be able to review at the end of the day.”
