Lightweight combo a heavyweight barra star

Shimano Stradic 3000 C14 & Samaki Zing review

AFTER using the Stradic/Samaki combo over the past six weeks I can safely say that when it comes to a finesse barra fishing combo it has few, if any equals.

The Stradic features a waterproof drag, C14 carbon fibre body and sideplate, Paladin gear enhancement for cranking hard on big fish and Aerowrap oscillation which gives ultra-smooth winding, even at high speeds.

It has six bearings and over 7kg of fish-stopping drag which is incredible for a reel that weighs only 190g.

The Samaki Zing 4-8lb rod has single-foot, R-shaped Fuji guides, camo hypalon grips and a medium action that’s perfect for finesse barra applications.

Spooled with 6-10lb braid this outfit allows unbelievably long casts with light soft plastics, and is just the ticket for Bynoe, Darwin Harbour and Corroboree Lagoon.

For those thinking this outfit is too light and won’t be suitable for general purpose use; think again.

I’ve knocked over 6kg-plus longtail tuna on this combo, a task it handled with ease.

After six weeks of solid testing I can honestly say this is the best finesse spin combo I have ever used, and its light weight makes it perfect for kids or petite females.

Fishing and Outdoor World are currently doing a great package price on this combo, give the boys a call on 89816398 or drop in and see them at 27 Cavenagh St, Darwin.
