Well what a week it’s been!

Gusty 30 knot-plus winds and below-average temperatures have put a dampener on the fishing activities.

But the good news is with building tides and moderate winds this weekend there should be plenty of opportunities to get among it. The harbour has been fishing well lately and should only improve as water temperatures heat up.

Fish the afternoon incoming tide push as the warm water floods in over the flats.

Small, lightly weighted soft plastics work well, as do Zerek prawns and the Spanyid Vibes in 10g. There’s plenty of fish around in the bluewater, and Lee Point should give you plenty of opportunities over the weekend.

Trevor Robb recently got some honker brassy trevally and GTs there up to 40lb, and there’s plenty of queenies, mackerel and tuna around.
