ANGLERS were treated to a a special flyby of four F18 jets on day two of the Club Marine Insurance Barra Nationals tournament on the Daly River yesterday.
The jets were a highlight of a tough day of fishing that saw just 68 fish, and one prized metery caught by the 60 teams in the nine-hours of fishing.
The metery – a 105cm caught by Jarred Slack of team Runner Runer – scored an impressive 442 points and pushed his team into the top five positions.
Classic Lures, who bagged a 118cm two minutes before lines out on day one, netted six fish in a tough day to push themselves into top place.
Seventy Eight fish in all were caught and released during the day.
Slack took out champion angler and biggest fish for the day.
The premier barramundi tournament, which has drawn 60 teams and more thn 180 anglers to the Daly River, 220km from Darwin, runs until Friday.
