A FISHO trying to catch a barra was shocked when he hooked a crocodile instead.
Sean Parr was fishing at Corroboree on Sunday when the charter he was on stopped for lunch.
“I decided to flick a few lines while I was waiting, and then all of a sudden my line went tight, and there were bubbles in the water,” he said.
MAN WRESTLED CROC THEN DRANK BEER
Mr Parr said their guide half-joked it was a crocodile.
“We had seen one a few minutes earlier, he was hanging around having a good look at us.
“But then he popped up next to the boat and we could see the line in the top of his mouth.”
He said the croc was about 4m long.
“He was huge — he had a big head on him.”
Despite the prehistoric beast’s size, Mr Parr, 43, said it was rather docile.
“I thought he would get a bit cranky, but it wasn’t until we tried to get the boat closer to attempt to free him did he arc up.”
LUCIFER BITES THE HAND THAT FEEDS
He said the group had caught only a few “dirty great big catfish” up to that point.
The guide was eventually forced to cut the line.
