FISHOS, you’re not going to like what you’re about to read.
Scott McNair and his father-in law Pan Khumpholkrang left to go fishing at Shady Camp as mere mortals — they returned legends.
The pair managed to land themselves in the metrey club — and then some — with this 127cm monster.
Mr McNair said he took his misuss Ning Khumpholkrang and the in-laws down to Shady Camp last week for their first crack at a barra.
They goup had already landed several barra to 95cm. before they hit the big time.
After changing locations and lures a few times Mr McNair’s line started screaming from the reel and he gave the rod to his father-in-law.

“In between trying to coach the old man, who doesn’t speak English, or fish, I moved the boat and got ready for a net shot, and the odds were against us,” Mr McNair wrote on fishingterritory.com.
“The fish stayed low and stubborn, until finally she surfaced close to the boat. OMG! It’s a monster.
“The big girl was bigger than the brag mat and fat as a dugong! I put it at 127cm, beating my personal best by 7cm.”
The fish took a Reidy’s Big Ass B52 in green - a popular choice for fishos chasing big barra.
Sunday Territorian fishing columnist Matt Flynn said it was “a once in a lifetime catch”.
“They done get much bigger than that, well they don’t catch them much bigger than that,” he said.
Despite his new hero status Mr McNair was conciliatory in his victory.
“Sorry to all you diehard barra fishos that are yet to land a metery, I know you’re crying into your beers about now,” he said.
