Barramundi have to eat out of necessity, no matter what the water conditions are.

Here are some of the different water conditions regularly encountered in our shallows, and whether I think they are good for catching a barramundi on a lure.

The first incoming tide is my favorite tide timing to catch a barramundi.

But the first incoming tide sometimes brings very wavy water to our shallows.

The water is agitated by very wavy water condition and coarse-grained sand, mud and silt gets suspended.

I don't like it.

I love the brown water without coarse suspended matter.

Strictly speaking, this water is agitated with fine-grained mud and silt.

I like the brown water with fine particulate matter.

There should be more chances to catch a nice sized barramundi in this water.

I like a brown water for my land based barramundi fishing very much.
