The water is becoming colder.

Bream and whiting are looking good under these conditions.

But barramundi are getting bewildered by the sudden change of the environment.

The stable water temperature is ideal for my land-based fishing.

Even with very cold water conditions, they start biting lures once the water temperature becomes stable again.

There is an exception to this theory.

A small barramundi will take lures while the temperature is changing.

I went to East Point to fish in the morning.

The water was very, very clear and cold.

Luckily, I caught a small barramundi.

The colour of my lure was selected to be similar to the environment with the very clear water conditions.

While I was fishing, an affectionate jabiru came to see what I was doing. It’s my policy to break it off with birds who ask for fish. The jabiru wanted to eat my Squidgy Pro Mongrel with Aussie Herring colour.

After all, I gave a whiting I caught to this big bird.
