AFTER 10 years of solid growth, Ethan Hamilton’s dreadlocks have gone through a lot — 27 countries, being burnt into shape and even bees wax treatment.
But after his grandfather was recently diagnosed with his second form of cancer, he’s deciding to shave it all off for a good cause.

“I got my dreads when I was 12 years old over in Thailand,” he said.
“I already had long hair, as a 12 year old, constantly being mistaken for a girl, so I thought I’d try it out.”
Nearly 11 years later, he’s hoping to raise $3500 by the time he cuts them off at the end of the month.
“When I got them, I decided It’s going to be for some reason, it’s not going to be ‘Eh, I don’t want them anymore’, it’s going to be something important,” he said.

“My grandpa has two forms of cancer, myeloma and leukaemia, so I’ll cut them off on March 31 for the World’s Greatest Shave.”
