DARWIN’S beloved resident dinosaur Big Kev has returned from extinction and moved into his new home at Bunnings, Palmerston.

DARWIN’S beloved resident dinosaur Big Kev has returned from extinction and moved into his new home at Bunnings, Palmerston.

The 18-metre brachiosaurus previously lived alongside the Stuart Highway at Yarrawonga, but had to be taken down in mid-2019 because of plan to develop the site he was on.

Big Kev will now stand tall facing towards Pierssene Road near the outdoor nursery of the Bunnings store.

Bunnings Director of Property, Andrew Marks, said Bunnings was very happy Big Kev had now returned to site so the community could continue to enjoy the landmark.

“We understand the importance of Big Kev to the Palmerston community. We’re excited to have reassembled him in a position where the community can continue to enjoy him,” he said.

“Big Kev had been in storage for some time and has now been assembled to his former glory.”

Construction is progressing for the new warehouse which will replace the current Palmerston store.

The new $58 million Bunnings Warehouse Palmerston will span over 17,000 square metres, more than twice the size of the current store and will feature an outdoor nursery, timber trade sales area, building materials yard and an indoor playground and cafe.
