Wright said he was more concerned with bull sharks than he was taking a dip near Claudia. He posted the image to social media explaining how he saved the 2.15m croc after she washed up on the beach wrapped in a ghost net.

“She was quite exhausted. I untangled her and sat with her in the water,” Wright said.

“She lay on the beach for a few days and I hung with her and she’s now good, she hangs around the lodge.”

He urged others not to swim with crocs, stating that he had a special relationship with animals.

Claudia is one of two crocs Wright will swim with – the other being Bonecruncher.
