It's the perfect camping scene, right? Well, almost.

You start to feel that all-too-familiar itch and you know that you're already in for a restless night.

You declare to your campmates, "Mozzies LOVEEE me," like it's some sort of flattery, and they reply, "Thanks for taking one for the team!"

An 'instant' remedy for mozzie bites

Taking to TikTok, Jess, a Chemist Warehouse employee, shared her picks of 'summer camping essentials', which included the Skin Control After Bite Patches.

For just $8.50 for a 24-pack, these nifty patches won't break the bank and promise to be an 'instant' remedy for bites, stings and other irritations from flies, ants or midges.

The mint-oil-infused patches are easy to apply and work by calming and cooling the area as well as providing a physical barrier against itching.

Start by cleaning and drying the skin before applying, then place the clear patch over the bite and watch it gradually turn white - this means it's working!

The patches will last up to six hours and after this time, you can gently peel them off and discard them.

"Worked within minutes"

Shoppers and outdoor enthusiasts have been raving about the patches, which received a 4.6-star rating online.

One woman said they worked on her painful fire ant bites "within minutes".

And another claimed, "This product is the best thing for mosquito bites since a mosquito zapper."

"I'm constantly irritated by itchy bites and these patches have honestly saved my life," a third wrote.

Then a mum said, "You can't feel them, I almost forgot about one of them while I slept. There was a white dot where the bite was so figured it did its job well as that's what the instructions say it would do. Took the patch off didn't hurt and no longer an itchy bite. Will definitely use these on my kids."

Then a different customer said she was "skeptical" but after trying them, was "pleasantly surprised."

"Tested these on a summer camping trip and it really saved the day," chimed in someone else.

Then another impressed mum concluded, "My daughters both get really badly overreacted mosquito and bug bites to the point they welt and scar. I used these bite patches on their mosquito bites as well as a wasp bite that my daughter got and far out, they're unreal!

"They reduced the redness and swelling and the urge to scratch. When I took the patches off they both had the tiniest little bite mark but the redness, swelling and flared skin had completely gone and healed overnight rather than healing after weeks like normal."
