Aussie’s rant over Cadbury chocolate ‘rip off’ backfires

“Well it’s not called rum and raisins..."

If you go to the shops to fulfil a craving and the item you buy isn’t quite what you expected, you have every right to be a little disappointed.

But, after one Aussie had this experience and took their disappointment to Reddit, the response wasn’t quite what they expected.

A disappointed shopper

An Aussie local has taken to Reddit to share a bit of a fail for Cadbury, after opening up two blocks of chocolate with promises of extra goodies inside, only to get, well, basically nothing.

“Cadbury Rum&Raisin had 1 raisin and MarvellousCreations had no popping candy or jellies,” they wrote in the post.

The post also had two photos attached, one of each chocolate bar, and sure enough you can see that they look pretty grim - I’d be upset too!

“Get your refund!”

Some commenters on the post were sympathetic, expressing equal levels of confusion over the mistake.

“At least for marvellous creations, the bits they add are cheaper than chocolate. If they are going to rip you off of any part of this, it would be the chocolate. I'd say it's a mistake,” one commenter said.

“Strange as the chocolate is by far the most expensive part of the bar,” said another.

Some even suggested contacting somebody for a replacement or refund.

“Contact Cadbury customer service for a refund,” one person suggested.

“Probably just a factory mistake. If you call them they should give you a voucher or something,” said another.

“Someone should go to jail for this!”

However, the majority weren’t so kind, calling the incident dramatic and

“Yup. The contents say 17% raisins and 1% rum. There should be 30.6gm and 2.5ml of rum. There needs to be a full investigation,” said one commenter jokingly.

“Yes. This is unAustralian!” said another.

“Well it’s not called rum and raisins,” another commenter joked.

“I hope you’ll be ok,” said another sarcastically.

“report to ACCC. Someone should go to jail for this,” another commenter said.
