If there's one thing shoppers love discussing, it's the quality of supermarket paper bags.
Riveting stuff, hey?
But if you do the weekly grocery shop for your household, you'll know that the quality and size of the bags on offer is actually really important—especially in this economy when they'll set you back at least 25 cents a pop!
The latest debate to erupt on social media is about the ALDI bags versus the Woolies bags, and it all kicked off with a striking side-by-side comparison.

The paper bag comparison
Taking to the ALDI Mums Facebook group, the shopper, Susan, said that while she tries to remember her reusable bags, she finds that when she forgets, she's comforted in knowing she gets more bang for her buck with the ALDI bags compared to the Woolies ones.
"On the plus side... IF you forget your bags and have to buy one... for 25c... at least ALDI's are larger for more grocery items," Susan said.
"You would need three bags at Woolies for two bags at ALDI," she added, sharing a photo of the two different bags next to each other, the ALDI one towering over the much smaller Woolworths one.
"And with the paper, you have to be careful how heavy/full they are and frozen, cold or wet items disintegrate the paper too. Lame!"

"So much tougher"
Fellow ALDI fans chimed in, agreeing with the mum, with comments such as, "The ALDI bags are the best" and "ALDI is better, right down to their paper bags."
"I noticed that myself today too, ALDI ones are so much thicker and seem tougher," someone else wrote.
"The Woolies bags are a joke!" another blasted, while anther group member pointed out, "So Woolies is ripping us off even with the bags now? Gotta buy more than we actually should need to hold everything..."
However, the conversation wasn't entirely one-sided, as some people argued that size isn't everything.
"Size doesn't matter, it's the weight and how much they can hold," one wrote.
"Yeah, it can't hold much before it rips," replied another. "I have seen total contents fall out of an ALDI bag once."
"I put just one bottle of wine in and it ripped and the bottle shattered everywhere," shared another disgruntled customer.
It seems like no one can agree, so the debate will likely continue... but in the meantime, try and remember your reusable bags, will ya?!
