Personalised Easter Egg gifts

Teresa a.k.a @monochrome.haus_ used Kmart fillable craft eggs for only $4 to create adorable personalised Easter Egg gifts. She added names on each egg and used Kmart acrylic paint for $5 to make it egg-xtra special!

Speaking to Kidspot, Teresa said the inspiration behind the idea was wanting to "create a unique personalised Easter gift for all the little ones in our family."

"When I saw the clear fillable Easter eggs, I knew right away that they would make a great gift with some pastel paint and personalisation using my Cricut machine."

According to Teresa, the project did not take very long, and creating the personalised decals was a simple process.

"The longest part would be waiting for the coat of paint or sealer to dry. I completed the project over two days, but you could definitely do it in one," she said.

Here is a breakdown of all items used:

  • Fillable Eggs
  • Pastel paint
  • Cricut Vinyl-White
  • Ribbon
  • Mod Podge

"This is a super easy project that anyone could do; I am still a beginner crafter, so if I can do it, I believe anyone can. My tip for anyone attempting this is to do a thicker first coat of paint and not to go over the same area many times with the brush to avoid a streaky finish," Teresa said.

Floral bunny ears

Bea from @simplybea_ is hopping into the season with these adorable floral bunny ears she made using a $3.50 Kmart headband, cardstock and Cricut Maker 3!

She used a design in Cricut Design Space to cut the cardstock into flowers, which you can do here!

"I enjoy paper craft and have seen a lot of adorable Easter Headbands in shops and thought why not make one instead of buying one," Bea said about the inspiration behind the project.

"It didn’t take too long," she explained. "It would have taken longer if I didn’t have my Cricut Maker to cut out my designs.  My materials were bought from Kmart, so it wasn’t expensive. Plus, there is a lot of inspiration from the Cricut Design App, where I got the design for my Easter bunny headband."

She insists even "non-craft people" can do this, as you just need to roll the flowers and ears, hot glue them all on the headband and you're done!

Bea made this for her daughter to wear for Easter, but said this would be perfect for Easter hat parades!

Easter egg bunny holders

Tiff (@home.style.by.tiff) created these easy and adorable Bunny Egg Holders using cardstock, glue and Cricut Joy Xtra that will have the whole family egg-cited!

"My daughter wanted to give her friends at school a little something for Easter this year," Tiff said. "I wanted to make something simple but fun for her to give the kids without spending a fortune at the shops. I jumped onto Cricut Design Space, where I found many different gift ideas. After a brief search, I stumbled across a range of different animal egg holders and decided on this cute design.

"The only thing I had to purchase to make these were the chocolate eggs. All I needed to make them was some card stock and glue, both of which I already had at home. From cutting using my Cricut machine to the finished result, it was under 15 minutes."

Tiff encourages everyone to try this idea, as the Cricut machine "does everything for you."

Once the machine has cut and drawn everything, it’s as simple as folding and gluing the bunny with an egg.

Tiff told us, "The original plan was to make these just for my daughter’s school friends, but my kids loved them so much that I ended up making extra for them as well. My kids ate the chocolate egg and in place of the egg put a Pom Pom so it looks like the bunny’s have a fluffy soft tummy. The kids also plan on giving one each to their grandparents on Easter Day."
