Zendaya visibly grimaces over ‘kiss’ question on Sunrise

The Hollywood star was visibly put off by a racy question she was asked on Aussie breakfast TV, with her co-stars stepping in.

Zendaya appears to not understand kissing question

Zendaya visibly grimaced over one particularly personal question during her interview on Sunrise, before her co-stars had to jump in.

The US actress, who is busy promoting her latest film Challengers opposite Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor, sat down with Channel 7’s Edwina Bartholomew to chat about the movie during her recent trip to Sydney, with the interview airing earlier this week.

The former Disney Channel star, who kisses both her co-stars in the tennis flick, was asked by Bartholomew, “Who’s the best kisser?”

Cue, Zendaya’s baffled reaction:

The multi-Emmy winner briefly paused, seemingly unwilling to answer the question before Faist spoke up, declaring O’Connor was the best onscreen pash.

It’s unclear if Faist is speaking on behalf of Zendaya or himself, given O’Connor and Faist also share a smooch in the movie.

“Thank you,” O’Connor said. “Z’s [Zendaya] quiet.”

“I’ll let ya’ll take that,” Zendaya responded.

A clip of the moment has since been re-shared on the social media platform X by a number of fans, with one saying, “why does this country’s media landscape continue to be so embarrassing.”

Another added, “Zendaya pretending she didn’t hear the question first.”

A third wrote, “Mike, it seems, recognized [sic] the lameness of said question and immediately said Josh. Love these three.”

The upcoming, much buzzed about film sees Zendaya play Tashi – a tennis player turned coach whose managed to transform her husband Art (Faist) into a grand slam champion.

But as Art grapples with a losing streak, Tashi encourages him to play a must-win challenger event.

Drama ensues when the match winds up being against Patrick (O’Connor), Art’s ex best friend and Tashi’s former lover.

Challengers hits cinemas in Australia April 24.
