Darwin Council is inviting Territorians to a free community event commemorating the 50th anniversary of Cyclone Tracy.
It will be held at the Darwin Ski Club on Saturday, November 30, providing an opportunity for the community, visitors and survivors to connect, learn and commemorate.
It is open to the public and will be livestreamed on the Cyclone Tracy website for those who are unable to attend in person.
Public buses will be available free of charge from the Mindil Beach parking area to the Darwin Ski Club, running every 15 minutes, with the first bus departing at 8am.
Attendees are encouraged to park at the Mindil Beach parking area and catch the bus to the event.
There is a drop-off area adjacent to the Ski Club on Conacher St for anyone with mobility concerns.
The commemorative event will include formalities from 9am until 10am, with a free morning tea available from 10.15am until 12pm.
Spaces are limited and will be available on a first in basis.
Gates will open from 8.30am.
