Macklemore to headline 2024 Bass in the Grass line-up
A multi Grammy Award-winning artist has been revealed as the headline act for Darwin’s biggest music festival.

The highly anticipated mystery US act to take the Bass in the Grass stage has been revealed.
Macklemore will perform at the Mindil Beach stage in May next year, marking the only music festival the rapper and singer will play as part of his Australian and New Zealand tour.
The American artist rose to fame in the early 2010s with household hits ‘Thrift Shop’ and ‘Same Love’, amassing 13.2 billion stream to date alongside a stack of ARIA and Grammy Awards.
Macklemore is visiting just five Australian and two NZ cities in his 2024 tour, offering Territorians and the thousands that flock north for Bass a rare opportunity to see the critically acclaimed artist.
The rest of the line-up is expected to drop later this month however discounted early-bird tickets are already on sale.
Chief Minister Natasha Fyles said Macklemore was just one artist on what was shaping up to be a “stellar festival line-up”.
“With a wide range of artists every year, and a stunning beachside location, BASS is the perfect reason for people down south to escape the cooler weather and heaSd north,” she said.
“Once here, they enjoy hours of quality music and the holiday of a lifetime.
“This year BASSINTHEGRASS attracted almost 4000 people from interstate, which is great news for our economy and a range of industries.”

Early bird tickets to the Territory’s biggest annual music festival are about to be released, despite the 2024 line-up remaining a closely guarded secret.
The first round of Bass in the Grass tickets will be released on Tuesday exclusively to the music lovers who attended the Top End music festival in 2022 or 2023.
The early birds will have a 24-hour advantage to buy the discounted $85 tickets, compared to the general admission tickets which go live on Wednesday for $129.

“This Early Bird offer for Territory fans means we can reward those who have supported the event over the last couple of years,” she said.
However, Ms Fyles would not reveal who would be appearing on the festival stage, although hinted that an “an American recording superstar” would be announced soon.
‘With the line-up coming out soon, anyone with the chance to buy one of these tickets should grab it with both hands,” she hinted.
Ms Fyles said the 2024 festival was expected to draw in $13.1m in economic benefits across the tourism and hospitality sectors.
