The devastating explanation for a car being parked for an extended period on Yumi Stynes’ street left her regretful of leaving an angry note.

Sad truth after Yumi's brutal note on car

A nasty note left on a car windshield by Yumi Stynes spectacularly backfired when the radio host received a text containing a devastating explanation for why it was there.

Stymes revealed on KIIS 1065’s 3pm Pick Up program on Wednesday her regret surrounding the cranky note she attached to the car after learning the truth behind the overstayer.

“I put my number on it and I said ‘listen, I’m living on X number on this street, I’m sorry to be an asshole but why are you parking here for days on end? We’re in a lockdown, and I need this spot,” she told co-host Kate ‘Monty’ Dimond.

She later received a text message saying the car belonged to someone who was ill and stuck in hospital.

“She said ‘hey I’m just answering the note you left on my friend’s windshield. She’s been in hospital for three months’,” Stynes said.

Dimond responded: “Yeah that’s why you don’t leave notes, you never know the situation”.

“It’s so aggressive. It’s never not aggressive leaving a note.”

Styles revealed last week she received a taste of her own medicine when someone sticky taped a letter to her car, telling her off for her parking.

“Even if I tried really, really hard, I don’t know if I could park as selfishly as you have. Please consider where you park,” the noted, shared to her Instagram, read.

She claimed that while she was “pleased” to have received the handwritten letter, she wished it contained more detail.

“Winning at life today. As an enthusiastic note writer myself I was pleased to find this *sticky taped* to my windshield this morning but I have thoughts,” she wrote in her caption.

“Ummmm … tell me how to improve? As boss feedback it’s too vague. Selfish how? Selfish why? Liked the flourish at the end. Next time more aggressive less passive please. Thanks.”

Styles addressed her note on Wednesday’s program, saying she initially thought she had been given a parking ticket.

“First I thought I got a fine, then I thought ‘you know what? Somebody in a house nearby has written this note and they are watching me’,” she told Dimond.

“So I actually said … What did I do? What’s wrong with my park?” she said.

Dimond couldn’t believe what she was hearing.

“Did you? So you looked – terrible park plus a crazy woman,” she said.
