Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion stars Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino had a surprise reunion of their own yesterday, 25 years on from the cult classic comedy.
The stars took to the stage at Monday’s Screen Actor’s Guild Awards to present an award – and even nodded to their iconic Romy and Michele costumes in their bold pink and blue matching suits.
Kudrow, 58, and 54-year-old Sorvino looked stunning as they presented the award for outstanding ensemble in a comedy series – and channelled their ditzy characters as they complimented each other onstage.

“You look cute,” Sorvino said.
“I know, thanks. So do you, of course,” Kudrow replied. “Do you think this is the cutest anyone’s ever looked at an awards show?”
“I just realised this: We’re wearing great ensembles, while at the same time presenting to great ensembles,” Sorvino continued, before reading the nominees from Post-Its – a nod to one of the film’s funniest moments.
Backstage, the Romy and Michele love-fest continued, with Sorvino and Kudrow dancing to Cyndi Lauper’s classic Time After Time – just like they did in the film’s climax in one of the most enjoyably ludicrous dance sequences ever committed to celluloid.
The former co-stars have had a few low-key reunions over the years, but there’s sadly been no movement on what fans really want: A Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion sequel.
Back in 2014, Sorvino said she was keen to do it – but Disney stood in her way.
“Me and Lisa and Robin (Schiff, writer) would love to do a sequel. We have asked Disney before. It’s Disney that has to decide to say yes.”
Meanwhile, Kudrow and Sorvino’s Romy And Michele co-star Alan Cumming opened up about getting his big US break with the film in a recent interview with news.com.au.
The Scottish actor couldn’t quite believe his luck when he was cast as nerd-done-good Sandy Frink alongside Oscar-winner Sorvino and Friends star Kudrow.
“It doesn’t really make that much sense – I’d never played an American before, and never done a movie in Hollywood. When you’re new blood, you do the rounds and read a million scripts, and it was the first one where I went, ‘Oh this is good. This is not the usual Hollywood trash.’
“I loved that it had two female leads. One day when we were filming, I remember saying to the writer, ‘Oh my god, I’m the girl in this film, aren’t I?’
“Normally it would be two men [as leads], and the girl would float in and out. The structure of it was so subversive,” he said.
