ONE Tropical Day will return to the Top End this year, with a number of big names set to take centre stage.

After planning and preparing to headline last year’s Reset 2020, prior to COVID’s border restrictions keeping them in Melbourne, Aussie rock icons Daryl Braithwaite and Jon Stevens, performing collections from the Noiseworks and INXS, will take to the stage along with Australian Music Industry Hall of Fame inductees and rock outlaws Rose Tattoo and soul, blues and rock collective Mahalia Barnes and the Soul Mates.

Rose Tattoo’s Angry Anderson said it would be the group’s first performance since COVID pulled it out of the middle of a European tour in March last year.

“I think it’s rather poetic that it’s Darwin … I tried not to get bogged down with the hysteria and the colourful reactions down south during lockdown but the Northern Territory handled the situation rather well,” he said.

“It always looked like it was going to be in Darwin and we were all keeping our fingers crossed I suppose.

“Word got around it pretty quick that there were some things happening up here, everyone wanted it, we’ve just been waiting for an opportunity and this one came up I was never going to knock it back.”

Anderson said while the band hadn’t performed in Darwin for a while it was one of his favourite places to enjoy some down time.
