Rita Ora has showed off her huge engagement ring and wedding band for the first time.
The newly married singer, 32, appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in New York and opened up about her marriage to New Zealand filmmaker Taika Waititi, The Sun reports.
Rita, who only confirmed the marriage last week, told Jimmy: “It’s my first time showing my ring – I feel like you’re part of my relationship because we watch you every night – is that creepy?”
She went on to explain how she gave her man a helping hand when it came to finding the perfect stone.
She said: “When you know what you want, and I felt like I really wanted to be with this person, I just wanted it to feel really right and so I may have taken him to the shop and I may have pointed out exactly what ring I wanted.”
The singer said that her marriage and romance had helped inspire her on the new album.
“I’m so excited about this music because I feel like the journey it took me to get to this point, the past two years, my life has changed so drastically,” she said.
“Making a decision to spend the rest of your life with someone is kind of a big decision and so it got me writing again.
“I got inspired by love, even if it’s cheesy … This is more than just music, it’s a moment in life for me.”
UK ring specialist Jessica Flinn-Allen estimated the ring to be worth about half a million pounds ($A866,000).
“Rita Ora’s engagement ring is approximately 10ct bezel set emerald surrounded by a diamond halo, set into a yellow gold band,” she said.
“The stone is said to be of Colombian origin, and these stones can be worth around £40,000 ($A69,000) per carat, or in some cases up to £100,000 ($A173,000) per carat. This could mean that Rita’s emerald engagement ring could be valued in the region of half a million pounds.”
Meanwhile, Rita previously spoke about the big day in a radio interview this week and exclaimed: “I am officially off the market people. I chose to keep it more private and keep it to myself more but with my new video I am playing on what could have been.
“When the rumours came out is she, isn’t she? I wanted to play on it. I wanted to do a wedding that didn’t go to plan … that’s not to say that is actually what happened.”
Gushing over her special day, Rita said: “It was perfect. It was exactly, exactly how I wanted.
“It was nice and perfect. It is nice to keep some things just to myself sometimes it was nice and sweet … Sorry it’s not that interesting. One day I will throw a big party.”
Rita and Taika had been dating for a year and a half being getting married, after growing close while she was in Australia working as a coach on TV singing show The Voice.
They made their joint red carpet debut at the Los Angeles premiere of The Suicide Squad in August 2021. But they have been friends for longer.
