LOCAL singer/songwriter Max Fredericks is launching his debut album in Darwin next week, paving a way for Darwin musos to hit the big time.
With songs about travelling, living on the road and family – many tropes of the Territory, Fredericks said the Darwin community inspired him to put pen to paper and sound to the microphone during lockdown periods in 2020.
“Darwin has helped me a lot, firstly with doing a lot of gigs it helps me save up money to do it and the Territory’s an inspiration in itself,” he said.

“The people here have been so supportive, have always said ‘oh you have to get your own stuff’.”
Fredericks said while he enjoyed playing classic covers such as Powderfinger, Jet, and Cold Chisel, he would keep his covers and his original work as separate performances to help build his profile.
