Riley Keough reveals sex scene with her husband on Daisy Jones & the Six was ‘awkward’

Riley Keough felt “awkward” and “uncomfortable” filming her Daisy Jones & the Six sex scene with her husband.

The actress was initially on board with producers’ “funny” idea to have Ben Smith-Petersen play the “random person” her character hooks up with, the actress told Seth Meyers.

However, simulating intercourse with her partner was “more awkward” than the 33-year-old anticipated, Page Six reported.

“We got there and, like, [it was] really uncomfortable,” Keough explained to Late Night With Seth Meyers viewers.

“It was so weird,” she added, admitting that she was “giggling the whole time” while trying to remain “very professional”.

Keough laughed, noting: “I really kept feeling inclined to be like, ‘In real life, it’s not like this.’ And then I was like, ‘I’ll just, you know, keep that to myself.’”

She and Smith-Petersen have been married since 2015 and secretly welcomed a daughter seven years later.

While the couple have yet to reveal the little one’s name, Keough’s uncle Navarone Garibaldi seemingly let it slip in an Instagram live video that the baby’s name is Tupelo.

Notably, Tupelo is Elvis Presley’s hometown in Mississippi.

Keough confirmed her infant’s arrival in a poem written for her late mother Lisa Marie Presley’s memorial service last month.

Smith-Petersen read the touching tribute, which included the line: “I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me.”

Keough knew that she wanted to start a family with the stunt performer on their second date.

“He came out of the gas station … and I thought, ‘I’m gonna marry him and have kids with him,’” she recalled in a Late Show With Stephen Colbert interview. “I just knew.

“We didn’t even say ‘I love you’ yet,” the star continued, joking that she didn’t tell the actor about her premonition “at that point”.

The duo met while filming Mad Max: Fury Road in 2012, kicking off their romance the following year. Smith-Petersen proposed to Keough in 2014.

The Golden Globe nominee was previously engaged to Alex Pettyfer in 2012.

The first three episodes of Daisy Jones & the Six premiere on Prime Video Friday, with Keough starring as the series’ titular character.
