Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron ‘distract’ fans with their appearance in new Netflix hit: ‘Unrecognisable’

Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron are the talk of social media after Netflix viewers were left ‘distracted’ by their pair’s appearance.

Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman’s new movie A Family Affair premiered on Friday, and Netflix fans have been left baffled by the pair’s appearance.

Fans who flocked to watch the new romantic comedy, also co-starring Joey King, were inspired to rush to social media after being left “distracted” by Kidman and Efron on-screen.

Some who watched interviews featuring the stars behind the scenes, as well as the movie itself on Netflix, have suggested the two stars don’t resemble themselves.

“You can’t convince me these are real human beings,” commented one fan underneath the video.

Another took to social media after watching the movie to remark: “The amount of plastic surgery in this movie is sad!”

“Neither one of them look like themselves,” said a third viewer, with a fourth tweeting: “Gosh you can’t tell me that’s supposed to actually be Zac Efron?”

“Trying to watch #AFamilyAffair with #ZacEfron, but I’m way too distracted by whatever he did to his beautiful face, why would he do that to himself?,” added another.

Efron previously opened up on the surgery after past rumours surrounding his appearance.

In 2022, the Hollywood star spoke to Men’s Health to explain he had shattered his jaw while running in his house with socks on.

The actor revealed he slipped and hit the corner of a fountain before passing out, saying his “chin bone” was ‘hanging off’ his face. While recovering from the injury, his facial muscles got “really big” so he teamed up with a physical therapist to help with it.

“The masseters just grew. They just got really, really big,” he explained.

Masseter muscles exist on both sides of the lower face and run from the temporal bone to the lower jaw. The muscles aid with chewing and eating.

In a September 2022 interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor said the accident nearly killed him.

“It was funny,” he said. “It sucks. I almost died, but we’re good.”

Meanwhile, aware of the constant chatter about her appearance, Efron’s co-star Kidman addressed it back in 2007 when she said that she hadn’t undergone any procedures on her face.

At the time, she said: “To be honest, I am completely natural, I have nothing in my face or anything. I wear sunscreen, and I don’t smoke. I take care of myself. And I’m very proud to say that.”

A few years later, Kidman confessed to using Botox, but added that she stopped after “not liking” how it changed her face.

“I’ve tried a lot of things [to stop ageing], but aside from sports and good nutrition, most things don’t make a difference, I have also tried Botox. I didn’t like how my face looked afterwards,” she told TV Guide in 2014.
