AMERICAN singer Demi Lovato is charging fans $7250 for a private meet and greet on her Australian tour next April.

The VIP package is the most expensive in Australian tour history.

The extravagant price doesn’t even include a concert ticket, which has to be purchased separately.

The package, which is $6000 American (or $7250 Australian) includes access to a private dressing room (not Lovato’s) for you and a friend with your name on the door and your own rider.

Lovato meets you in the room, poses for a photograph and you can watch the show from side of stage.

There is no word on how long the meeting lasts or how many packages are for sale at each show.

Other VIP packages include Lovato dedicating a song to you for $1800, with a 15 second video copy of the dedication sent to you. $1500 lets you watch from side of stage, $600 gets you an individual photograph with Lovato.

An extra $180 on your ticket prices offers early entry into the venue.

Each package includes Demi Lovato socks as part of the deal.

One music fan wrote on a Lady Gaga forum of Lovato’s $7250 package: “What a completely hilarious figure. She REALLY has a high opinion of herself, which is odd since she’s a complete non-entity in this country.”

Lovato’s tour, her first of Australia, is relatively cheap, with tickets priced at $79.90.

She is best known here for her version of the Frozen hit Let It Go and has had two Top 20 albums.

With record sales dwindling, musicians have started putting a price on meeting fans before concerts.

Jennifer Lopez charged Australian fans $800 for a photograph with her, while KISS sold out all their $1500 meet and greet packages on their last Australian tour.

Lady Gaga charged $1500 for a meet and greet VIP package this year, while Olivia Newton-John will charge the same amount next year, however proceeds go to her cancer charity.

Canadian singer Sarah McLachlan is charging around $245 for meet and greet tickets to her February concerts.

VIP packages that do not include meet and greets have also increased in price over the last few years, with fans offered seating close to stage, early entry to venues and exclusive merchandise and even dedicated VIP toilets at venues.

Premium tickets to boy band One Direction’s tour next year are $300 offering the closest views of the stage but no access to meeting the singers.

However not all artists are into monetarising front row tickets or charging to meet them.

British singer Ed Sheeran is charging $99 for all tickets to his Australian shows next year.

“What I was really trying not to do was have elitist tickets,” Sheeran explained earlier this year. “I didn’t want people to pay $170 and get front row tickets and a meet and greet. I hate that s--. The moment you allow a kid with a rich father to have more things than a kid with a poor father I think that’s s---.”
