Almost 100,000 fans gathered at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Friday night to watch the global megastar in her biggest concert to date.
Swift fans spot very Aussie detail at Melbourne show
Fans have taken to social media to reveal a very Aussie detail that they spotted during Swift’s show in Melbourne on Friday.
While the superstar took to the stage for the first time, the MCG was displaying video from the Women’s cricket Test match between Australia and South Africa on television screens around the stadium.
A picture that’s now gone viral on Twitter showed SA bowler Anneke Bosch preparing to bowl a delivery as Taylor stood on stage performing her hit The Man.
“Trust the MCG to still have the cricket on at the Taylor concert,’ the fan captioned the picture.
Other Aussie’s rushed to poke fun at the moment, with one replying: “Only in Australia!”

Fan’s wild move to see show
One fan went to new lengths to get a glimpse of Taylor Swift’s sold out Melbourne show on Friday night, revealing she took a plane ride over the MCG.
In a post on TikTok, the social media user shared she watched “Taylor Swift from the sky” after boarding a small plane with two others and circled over the packed stadium.
The fan shared how “lucky” she was to know a pilot who could take her up.
A number of concertgoers commented on the video saying they spotted the plane flying overhead and praised the “amazing” idea.
“I saw the plane from the floor and I was wondering what we all looked like!” one person wrote.
“I saw you and thought how amazing it would have looked,” said another.
“That’s crazy cool!” another wrote.

Massive problem with premium Swift tickets
Fans who spent hundreds of dollars on premium floor seats were left with a very obscured view of the US megastar in Melbourne on Friday night.
While the majority of the 96,000 fans who piled into the MCG’s tiered stands could see the show, thousands in ground seats were not so lucky.
Because the seats are not tiered and the stage is at one end of the stadium, the view for many was the back of the heads of those in front of them. Swift herself could hardly be seen.
As one woman with three young children lamented to news.com.au: “We would’ve been better staying home and watching a live stream (of the concert).”
‘Insane’ sight outside Swift concert
Swift played in front of her biggest ever crowd last night, but not everyone could get tickets.
There was a huge crowd sitting on the grass outside the MCG listening in.
Footage on social media shows them singing along.

Gross reason Taylor Swift seats were abandoned
Gross pictures have emerged showing the aftermath of a “drunk man” who vomited on and around the seats of people waiting to hear Taylor Swift at last night’s Melbourne show.
News.com.au understands people seated in the area were waiting up to two hours for the mess to be cleaned up.
The incident reportedly happened at 7pm after opener Sabrina Carpenter finished her set, and was not cleaned until after 9pm.

Swift’s heartwarming act for Aussies
Two days after touching down in the country, Taylor Swift has made a “generous donation” to help Aussies doing it tough.
The pop star, who just kicked off her highly anticipated Australian leg of her popular Eras Tour in Melbourne on Friday night, made a surprise donation to Foodbank Victoria, which helps feed those in need.
The charity thanked Swift for the heartwarming act in a post on social media on Friday.
“As if we couldn’t love you any more than we already do,” it wrote on X.
“Your generous donation to Foodbank Victoria will put a sparkle back in the eyes of so many Victorians doing it tough right now! THANK YOU.”

Swift uses iconic Aussie phrase, fans lose it
Swift sent fans wild when she paid tribute to an iconic Aussie phrase during one of her best-loved hits on Friday night.
While performing the Red section of her Eras Tour Show, one of Swift’s dancers said an iconic Aussie phrase into the microphone during the spoken section of We Are Never Getting Back Together.
“So you know that we are never getting back together,” said Taylor, before handing the microphone over to her dancer, who yelled: “Yeah. NAH!” as the crowd immediately screamed back.
Fans rushed to share clips of the moment on social media, with Swift’s nod to Aussie culture clearly winning over the crowds.
Tay Tay stuns crowd with huge surprise
Swift surprised fans in Melbourne as she announced a brand new song.
Swift, who is gearing up to release her new record, The Tortured Poets Department, in April, announced that a special edition version of the record with a new cover would feature track The Bolter.
Swift then gave heartbreaking insight into her reasoning behind making the record, and confessed that it was a “lifeline” for her through a particularly hard time in her life.
“I’m very excited for April 19th. I can’t wait for you to hear all the songs. Tortured Poets is an album I think, more than any album I’ve made, is one I needed. It was a lifeline for me. It reminded me why songwriting is something that gets me through life.”
