Rock band Foo Fighters have today announced a massive new stadium tour of Australia and New Zealand – their first shows down under since drummer Taylor Hawkins’ death last year.

The band, who released their latest album But Here We Are on Friday, will play stadiums in

Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane in November and December, followed

by shows in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington in January 2024.

It will be Foo Fighters’ first headline tour of both countries since 2018.

The band only recently resumed their live touring commitments, following drummer Hawkins’ tragic death in March last year at the age of 50.

Hawkins died in his hotel room in Bogota, Colombia, where he was scheduled to perform with the Foo Fighters later that evening. Tributes flowed for the much-loved musician, and the Foo Fighters immediately cancelled all scheduled tour dates, emerging from their mourning in September to perform at two Hawkins tribute concerts.

In the video posted to the band’s official website on May 21, the Foo Fighters revealed veteran drummer and long-time friend Josh Freese would join their touring line-up alongside frontman Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett and Rami Jaffee.

Freese has previously played drums for Guns N’ Roses, Nine Inch Nails, Paramore, Offspring, Weezer and many more in his career.

Tickets for the Foo Fighters’ Australia and New Zealand tour go on sale Thursday 15 June via frontiertouring.com/foofighters. Queensland punk trio The Chats will support the band at their Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane shows, with other support acts enlisted across the tour including Body Type and Hot Milk.
