Adele has reportedly turned down a $A393 million deal to keep performing after announcing she will be going away “for a long time.”
The UK singer, 36, has just completed a specialist residency in Munich, Germany, and on the final night announced she will be going on a musical hiatus.
Her time off will start after she completes the final shows of her Las Vegas residency in November.
According to DailyMail, her decision comes despite the monster offer to extend her tour – including several million for a residency in Macau, China, and another world wide tour.
A source told the outlet, “There have been a lot of offers but she has turned them all down because she wants to be home with her kid.
“The Chinese deal put millions of dollars on the table, but she did not want to do it in the end. She’s put her kid and boyfriend — and herself — first.”
Adele was emotional when she made her onstage announcement, saying she wanted to “live her life” after so many years on the road.
“I’ve got 10 shows to do, but after that I will not see you for an incredibly long time and I will hold you dear in my heart,” she said.
Last month it emerged Adele was engaged to her sports agent boyfriend Rich Paul, something she later confirmed on stage.
Spotting a sign in the crowd that read “will you marry me?”, Adele said, “I can’t marry you because I’m already getting married!”
She then turned her hand so that her engagement ring could be seen on the huge screens at the purpose built stadium.
The Easy On Me singer has an 11-year-old son, Angelo, with her ex-husband Simon Konecki, who she divorced in 2021.
The star is currently based in Los Angeles alongside her fiance and son, though it is believed she is wanting to relocate to the UK during her break.
For her residency in Munich, Adele performed at a specially-built ‘pop-up’ stadium, transforming an area outside the arena into ‘AdeleWorld’ – complete with an ‘I Drink Wine’ bar and traditional British pub.
The sold out 10-date residency was packed with 80,000 people per night, with the star singing a string of her hits.
It’s believed she earned around $A9.85 million per performance at the arena.
However, ahead of the dates, she hinted she was ready to hang up her microphone for a while.
She told German TV in July, “My tank is quite empty at the minute. I don’t have any plans for new music. I want a big break after all this and I want to do other creative things for a little while.”
