Tones and I has given Adelaide fans hope she may add a show there on her upcoming Australian tour after fans protested their city had been bypassed for the album launch gigs in August.
The Dance Monkey star was announced last month the headliner for the first day’s entertainment on April 26 of the upcoming LIV Golf tournament in Adelaide.
“Why no Adelaide ?? You just came here with Pink,” posted one fan.
“What’s happened to Adelaide...even though your here for the Liv Golf but people shouldn’t have to go to that just to see you,” wrote another fan.
It is possible her deal with the LIV team restricted her from announcing another show in the market to protect their ticket sales from a competing gig.
“Adelaide, I’m listening,” she posted to her Instagram stories in response to fans complaining she had snubbed them on the August tour.
Fans in Tasmania and the Gold Coast were also urging their pop idol to add dates in their markets.
With cost of living biting at the concert box office, Tones has kept her ticket prices under $100 with general admission tickets costing $84.90 plus booking fees.
TONES AND I AUSTRALIA TOUR: HOW TO GET TICKETS EARLY
Australia’s three-billion streams queen Tones and I will launch her second album with an Australian arena tour in August.
The Fly Away pop superstar scored one of the loudest and biggest receptions for any homegrown support act on a stadium stage when she opened for P!nk’s record-breaking Summer Carnival tour in February and March.
Tones was given a rapturous reception at all of the 20 stadium gigs, with the cheers and singing from fans so loud at Sydney’s Accor Stadium on March 16, the biggest show of the run, the emotional homegrown hero was moved to tears.
“The support and love around Australia and NZ has been so incredible,” she said.
“My live show is something I hold very close to my heart and is the best representation of who I am. I’m so grateful to be embraced by people around Australia and NZ.
“I hope people leave feeling a part of something.”
During the Summer Carnival tour, Tones and I became the first female artist to smash through the three-billion streams ceiling on Spotify with Dance Monkey, which was released in May 2019.
But the shows for P!nk’s adoring fans also proved to be happy hunting grounds for the first singles she has shared from the new record to follow-up her 2021 debut Welcome to the Madhouse.
Dreaming, the song she dropped in January before hitting the road, now has more than six million streams on Spotify while I Get High has racked up more than one million plays in just three weeks.
While she has yet to confirm the release details for her second album, the tour announce hints it is likely to drop before the shows, as her setlist “will highlight new songs from her sophomore album, including Dreaming and I Get High, plus fan favourites Dance Monkey, Fly Away, Cloudy Day and Never Seen The Rain.”
Tones and I’s arena tour almost replicates the Summer Carnival run, albeit not in the same super-sized stadiums, and is also being staged by P!nk’s longtime promoter here Live Nation Australia.
It opens at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on August 23 and heads to Newcastle Entertainment Centre on August 24, Brisbane’s Riverstage on August 30, Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre on August 31, Fremantle Arts Centre on September 5 and Margaret Court Arena in Melbourne on September 7.
There are a number of pre-sales, kicking off on April 10 at 10am for Vodafone customers (details via vodafone.com.au/ticket) and at noon for MasterCard cardholders (ticket information at priceless.com/music).
My Live Nation presale for members opens at noon local time on April 12.
And the general public tickets go on sale from noon on April 15 with all ticket information via livenation.com.au
