Noel Gallagher reveals reason for his feud with Adele

Former Oasis star Noel Gallagher has detailed the meeting that caused him to take an intense dislike to superstar singer Adele.

He has referred to her as “f***ing awful”, “offensive” and “s**t” in the past.

But Noel Gallagher has finally revealed the reason behind his hatred of Hello singer Adele — she offered him a “Hello”.

The Oasis star told how the superstar sent an assistant to visit him and give him the chance to hang out with her.

Most people would probably be flattered by an invite like that, but fellow A-lister Noel saw it as Adele acting like a diva.

During a discussion on the Matt Morgan podcast, he insisted he had never started a row with the singer, which led to him coming clean about his drama with her.

Noel said: “I don’t think I have ever gone out of my way to start anything, it’s always been a reaction to some f***ing idiot having a go in the first place.

“You know me, I keep myself to myself.”

When reminded about his remarks about Adele, and how she had never badmouthed him, he continued: “No, but she sent someone over to f***ing ask, ‘Did I want to meet her?’. That’s what riled me.

“I’m not one for causing a scene, I just stick it in the vault and just think revenge is a dish best served cold.”

Speaking about the British pop diva in July, he said he couldn’t stand her music.

Quizzed on whether he’s a fan of Adele’s songs, Noel said: “F**k off, f***ing hell. Name one?

“They’re f***ing s**t. It’s f***ing awful. It’s f***ing Cilla Black. I find it and that whole thing offensive.”

That wasn’t the first time he has let rip about her either.

In 2015, he ranted: “If someone wants to know what I think of Adele, I’ll f***ing tell them.

“I just don’t see what all the fuss is about.

“I don’t like her music. I think it’s music for f***ing grannies.”

That same year, she broke Oasis’s record for the fastest-selling album in UK chart history, when her third record 25 outsold Be Here Now, from 1997. I doubt that did much to help Noel warm to her.

In 2016, he was at it again, ranting about her number one hit Hello.

He complained: “Adele? I’m not a fan.

“She always comes on the radio when I’m having my cornflakes. Hello? No, f*** off!”

It’s not Noel’s first celebrity feud, having spent years quarrelling with his estranged brother Liam.

He also had a fallout with Lewis Capaldi in 2019, just as the Scotsman’s career was rocketing.

At the time, he asked: “Who is this Capaldi fella?” before branding him an “idiot.”
