SOME of music’s biggest names have publicly voiced their support for Kesha today after the pop star was dealt a devastating legal blow.
The 28-year 0pld burst into sobs in Manhattan civil court Friday when a judge ruled that she couldn’t break her exclusive recording contract with Sony and music producer Dr. Luke — even though the performer says the producer raped and abused her.
Dr Luke — real name Lukasz Gottwald — is one of the top writers and producers in American pop in recent years, responsible for hits for the likes of Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Avril Lavigne.
Today, many high-profile singers — including several who have previously worked with the producer — have thrown their support behind Kesha, whose debut hit Tik Tok is one of the best-selling songs of the 21st century:
There are people all over the world who love you @KeshaRose. And I can say truly I am in awe of your bravery.

standing with @KeshaRose through this traumatic, deeply unfair time. send good vibes her way everyone

Kelly Clarkson — who scored a 2010 US number one with the Dr Luke-penned My Life Would Suck Without You — retweeted a fan’s negative reaction to the verdict with a cryptic tweet that seemed to suggest she’s on Team Kesha:
Trying 2 not say anything since I can't say anything nice about a person... so this is me not talking about Dr. Luke https://t.co/lLhtUHbmgG
â Kelly Clarkson (@kelly_clarkson) February 19, 2016
My heart is with @KeshaRose. ð

Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea also weighed in:
If two people dont want to be in business with one another it seems very cruel for one to hold the other in a contract.
â IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) February 19, 2016
Im not accusing anyone of anything, but i believe Kesha deserves the ability to move forward, create and earn a living.

It’s also understood that Miley Cyrus — for whom Dr Luke produced hits Party In The USA and Wrecking Ball — privately severed all ties with the producer when first made aware of the sexual abuse allegations.
Kesha and Dr Luke have been engaged in warring legal battles, with the singer alleging her hit maker raped her in an aeroplane and drove her to eating disorders.
Dr. Luke counters that the claims are “blatant extortion,” and that she fabricated the allegations to get out of her contract.
While #FreeKesha is the top Twitter trending hashtag worldwide right now with a host of celebs voicing their support, other regular Dr Luke collaborators including Spears and Perry are yet to comment publicly on the issue.
