Podcaster Bobbi Althoff, whose painfully awkward interview with Drake went viral last month, is addressing speculation the two had a romantic fling that led to a falling out.
Althoff, who is married and has two young daughters, took to her Instagram Story to put the rumours to rest by sharing “an uncensored DM” exchange she’d had with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy.
“My girlfriend says you hooked up with Drake and got divorced. I am saying that is not true,” Portnoy’s message read.
Althoff replied, “I am not commenting publicly but off the record, you’re right that is not true.”
She added atop the screenshot, “I did not want to do this podcast in the first place, and now so much negativity is coming from it.”
Althoff, 26, vowed to “leave it alone after this” — without elaborating on gossip that she and the rapper are beefing.
Up until last week, Althoff’s viral episode of The Really Good Podcast featuring Drake — her biggest get to date, which she landed after she “DMed [him] and asked if he wanted to be on [her] podcast” — was continuing to gain streams on Spotify and views on Youtube, Instagram and TikTok.
During the on-camera conversation in question — which was conducted in a hotel bed after she dropped everything to fly to Memphis to accommodate his tour schedule, causing her to miss her daughter’s 1st birthday — a seemingly disinterested Althoff hit the Grammy winner, 36, with a multitude of deadpan questions, including “Why do you follow so many people on Instagram?” and “Are you gonna buy me a flight home?”
They also discussed other rappers, including Tyga, whom Althoff claimed to have never heard of.
The Rack City chart-topper ended up being her next guest.
Then over the weekend, Althoff posted an Instagram Reel showing her having a miserable time at Drake’s concert.
Making sure to keep her persona consistent, an annoyed and judgmental looking Althoff was seen standing still with her arms crossed as her friends jumped, danced and sang along to the music beside her.
“Really in my element here @ this guys concert,” she sarcastically captioned the clip.
However, shortly after, Althoff scrubbed the Drake interview from all platforms and even unfollowed the God’s Plan hitmaker, who made sure to return the favour.
Drake has not publicly addressed what could have led to the pair’s apparent feud, and his reps did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
As for Bobbi, she married tech executive Cory Althoff sometime after they got engaged in October 2019, but she told Cosmopolitan earlier this month that she “prefer[s] to keep [her] relationship private.”
In fact, their kids are known publicly only as “Richard” and “Concrete.”
Of her satirical interview style, Bobbi explained, “I’m very insecure, and the character that I’ve created is made up of my biggest insecurities. … I’ve always been so embarrassed about being socially awkward. Now, I’ve exaggerated that and made it even worse for this character. It’s a fun way to take control of this thing that’s been horrible for me my whole life.”
As for why she chose to have children so early in life compared to the trajectory of the average Millennial and Gen Zer, she said, “I had such a bad childhood, I desperately wanted to grow up.”
Bobbi shared that she was “suicidal in high school” and even tried to take her own life.
“I was actually really angry that I survived,” she said. “And I thought having a kid would give me a reason to live. Even to this day, as someone who struggles with depression, my kids are my reason to live.”
