Katy Perry in legal battle with Australian paparazzo Jamie Fawcett

KATY Perry is caught up in a legal stoush with Sydney paparazzo Jamie Fawcett after posting “defamatory” tweets about him to her 60 million followers.

Cloudy with a chance of Katy Perry

POP STAR Katy Perry unleashed her inner Roar at Australian media in a scathing social media post on Saturday, warning them against publishing images of her at a famous Sydney nudist beach.

The singer was being snapped by a pair of photographers on boats off gay-friendly Obelisk Beach in Mosman, when one of them allegedly stripped off while shooting at the nude beach.

Perry singled out high-profile Sydney paparazzo Jamie Fawcett in her post, warning him she has images of his “tiny penis” and “large gut” in her possession.

Lawyers for Fawcett issued a letter on Tuesday morning demanding Perry remove posts from her Twitter feed that the photographer claims are defamatory.

Perry made it clear that images taken of her at the beach were “against my will”, after she alleged the snappers told her she could make a “deal” with them.

Perry alleged the photographers promised to leave her alone in exchange for shots of her in her swimming costume. No photos of Perry, naked or otherwise, have surfaced from the boat trip as yet.

Fawcett is notorious for run-ins with celebrities, most notably when he was accused of bugging Nicole Kidman’s Sydney home in January, 2005.

Fawcett took defamation action in this case, denying the allegation.

While a jury deemed he had been defamed, Supreme Court Justice Carolyn Simpson ruled in favour of Kidman and ordered Fawcett pay a $1 million compensation bill, wrote the Daily Telegraph at the time.

Spice Girl Mel B took Fawcett to court last year on claims of harassment when she was in the country, but a request for an apprehended violence order was dismissed in court.

Perry posted to her 60 million plus followers over the weekend:

Perry alleges Fawcett took pictures of her “while being naked” but he was not among the three photos of unidentified paparazzi she claimed had been ‘stalking’ her.

Perry detailed the encounter in a series of tweets on Sunday, saying she had “plead” with the men to give her some space.

She then turned the tables on the paparrazo, posting pictures of the photographers she alleges were responsible, for ‘stalking’ her.

The 30-year-old pop star is in Australia as part of her Prismatic World Tour, playing 23 dates in arenas across the country until the middle of December. She is due to appear as a special guest at the ARIA Awards in Sydney on Wednesday.
