5 Seconds of Summer’s guitarist Michael Clifford has announced an exciting new production – his first child with wife Crystal Leigh.
The 27-year-old musician and his 33-year-old partner shared their baby will be born in November, just before Clifford’s own birthday.
“You’re already everything; baby clifford 11/11/23”, the Aussie musician posted on Instagram with stunning shots of his pregnant wife.
The pair, who met in 2016, married in a secret ceremony in the US in January 2021, only revealing to fans they had tied the knot a year later on their first anniversary.
Clifford got straight to the point with his Twitter post, writing “hey i’m gonna be a dad”.
The pair have recently moved house in Los Angeles and are now preparing a nursery for their baby.
“I’m filled with excitement and also with nerves,” Clifford told People. “I’ve been a dog dad for a long time, so I think I’m ready for a small human to take care of and communicate with conversationally after eight years of one-sided dog convos!”
He also paid tribute to his wife for her strength; Leigh suffered a scare early in the pregnancy.
The Australian musician said impending fatherhood had totally altered his “outlook on life.”
“The fact that for every single human on the planet (including everyone reading this) a strong woman had to go through carrying a baby, going through all of the emotions that come with being pregnant, and then deliver the baby is just astounding … Crystal is going to be an amazing mother”.
Millions of fans congratulated the soon-to-be-parents, with 5SOS frontman Luke Hemmings also sharing the news via his Insta stories.
5 Seconds of Summer are on a break after touring in support of their self-titled fifth record, with Hemmings recently resuming his solo side hustle with shows in Los Angeles.
