CHARLIE’S Angels, c’mon. We’re in for another reboot.
The iconic franchise which was first a television series in the 70s (before it received the big screen treatment in 2000) is set to hit the box office once again.
Sony is reportedly trying to lure Elizabeth Banks to bring the angels back to life after her successful directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2.
If all goes to plan, Banks will be at the helm of the new project and will also produce alongside her husband Max Handelman, while a writer is yet to be confirmed.
Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith were the original three angels / private detectives in the 1970s television series, before Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu starred in the film spin-off and less successful sequel.
We think with a strong female director such as Banks, the franchise should be in good hands.
