In the lead-up to the next trailer launch, Lucasfilm has also released the Star Wars: The Force Awakens poster worldwide.
It features Harrison Ford, as Han Solo, and Carrie Fisher, who returns as Princess Leia, without her famous hair buns that once covered her ears.
Luke Skywalker is absent as three new characters — Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron — take up a large portion of the poster.
Fans saw a new object in the background that looks like the Death Star, sparking conversation on social media that it could be a new weapon.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in cinemas 17 December, 2015.
