VIEWERS have survived a feeding frenzy this week — Sharknado 2: The Second One has chomped its way through our television screens.
The hotly anticipated sequel to Sharknado aired in Australia on Thursday, July 31 on Foxtel’s Syfy, just minutes behind the United States.
The second instalment in the disaster franchise became the most tweeted-about TV movie on social media, the US cable network said on Thursday.
Viewers took to Twitter to share their love-hate for the low budget flick.
Here are some of the best tweets:

Is #Sharknado2 a brilliant satire illuminating how numb our culture has become to violence? Or is it just a movie about shark tornadoes?

The sequel drew a whopping 3.9 million viewers in the US, quickly becoming Syfy’s most watched original movie ever. The ratings more than doubled the first Sharknado film, which landed 1.4m viewers with its July TV premiere last year.
Unsurprisingly, Sharknado 3 has already been confirmed and will hit television screens next year.
Sharknado 2 stars Tara Reid and Ian Ziering, with cameos from the likes of Kelly Osbourne, Vivica A. Fox, Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Judd Hirsch, Mark McGrath and even Robert Klein.
