Reality TV couple Matty ‘J’ Johnson and Laura Byrne are expanding their family once again.
The duo who captured hearts across Australia after meeting on The Bachelor in 2017, are officially expecting baby number three.
Already doting parents to daughters Marlie-Mae, 5, and Lola, 4, the pair made the announcement in the most heartwarming way.
A joyful Instagram video featured Lola stealing the show as she ran around the house beaming with excitement.
“Hi everyone, I got a baby in my mum’s tummy and I’m so excited!” she said in the video. “I’m so, so, so, so excited. I’d really like it to get a baby out. It’s coming out today Not really. But I’d really like the baby to come out.”
Lola’s enthusiasm was matched by Byrne, who captioned the post: “We are SO SO SO EXCITED!!!! Johnson #3 under construction.”
The announcement was met with an outpouring of love from followers and friends.
Holly Kingston called it, “The best pregnancy reveal in history,” while Jasmin Sleeman added, “This is the best news and the cutest announcement ever! Congrats fam.”
“Now that’s an announcement! Congratulations,” another user commented.
The couple also took to their respective podcasts to share more about their exciting news.
On Life Uncut, Byrne revealed she is 18 weeks pregnant and the couple had been on the fence for years about having a third child until they finally got “on the same page” over Christmas.
But there was also a twist.
Byrne found out she was pregnant two days after Johnson jetted off to South Africa to film I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here! — and she had to keep it secret the entire time.
“I wasn’t able to tell Matt for ages. The whole time he was in the jungle, I wasn’t able to tell him,” she explained.
“I didn’t want to tell him there, and then when we came back, we had to wait for the finale because it hadn’t aired on TV yet.
“I didn’t want to tell him until after all of the excitement and all of the kind of craziness of I’m A Celebrity had ended. I didn’t want to take away from an experience that he was having and kind of like, experience top it with another thing.”
Meanwhile, Johnson announced on his podcast, Two Doting Dads, that he and Byrne were expecting their third child in October.
He told his co-host Ash Wicks that the pair wanted to have baby number three in 2025 so they were close in age to their two eldest children.
The couples impending arrival will be the fourteenth baby to come from the Australian Bachelor franchise, the majority of which have been girls.
