From scoring goals to strutting catwalks: Matildas striker Mary Fowler has joined the ranks of Hollywood A-listers at Paris Fashion Week while boyfriend Nathan Cleary watches in awe.

Mary Fowler stuns on Paris catwalk

Rugby league footballer Nathan Cleary has reacted to his girlfriend’s Paris Fashion Week catwalk debut.

The smitten sports star shared a video clip of Aussie soccer player Mary Fowler strutting down the catwalk at the prestigious event.

Fowler stunned as she graced the runway for L’Oreal, donning an asymmetric gown and her gorgeous natural hair.

Sharing the clip to his Instagram story, Cleary was clearly left speechless, managing only one word: “Wowww.”

The Rugby league scrum half reported the video shared with Our Game, Football Australia, CommBank Matildas, and his girlfriend of just under two years.

Fans of the sports couple left a host of comments expressing their delight at seeing Ms Fowler scoring a win on stage.

“From footy boots to heels with eaaassyy peaasssy,” one wrote.

Another added: “Striking on and off the pitch.”

“Doing us proud on and off the field,” a third added.

On Monday night the 22-year-old also made history by becoming the first professional footballer to grace the stage at the world-renowned event – the Defile L’Oreal Paris show.

She is a L’Oreal ambassador alongside some of the biggest international stars including Eva Longoria, Kendall Jenner and Helen Mirren.

Fowler – with her trademark curls – wore a one-sleeved black suit dress and black heels and looked like a natural on the catwalk.

Fowler’s debut on the catwalk comes after she was signed as a brand ambassador for L’Oreal Paris last year.

It is a massive boost for the Manchester City striker who has been recovering from an ACL injury which she suffered in the FA semi-final against Manchester United in April.

The momentous occasion also comes after her boyfriend, Panthers’ star Nathan Cleary’s NRL dream came crashing down after the Panthers suffered a crushing defeat on the weekend by the Brisbane Broncos, ending the club’s four year premiership winning streak.

Fowler called on young Australian women to “embrace their individuality’’ after her catwalk debut.

“Stepping onto the runway was an exhilarating experience and different from anything I’ve experienced on the football pitch,’’ Fowler said.

“To walk alongside such inspiring figures, representing L’Oréal Paris, reinforced my belief that beauty is about embracing who we truly are and the confidence that comes with it.

“I hope every young woman watching, especially back home in Australia, felt that sense of empowerment and is inspired to embrace their individuality and walk with pride, knowing they are worth it.”

L’Oreal Paris said after they signed Fowler as an ambassador: “Mary is a powerful, talented, and influential young woman who has captivated the country with her exceptionally skilled freethinking style of play, and her authenticity”.

The football star – who grew up in Cairns – has had stellar performances on the field which saw her named in the Women’s Super League 2024-25 team of the year.

She was chosen for the first time in her career after being voted for by professionals in England’s top division.

Fowler is tipped to earn a record-breaking $10 million dollar mega-deal following a bidding war between Adidas, Nike and New Balance, according to Code Sports.

The five-year, $10 million deal would be unprecedented for a woman’s football player, eclipsing the reported $13 million paid by Nike to Matildas superstar Sam Kerr over 13 years.

It also tops the 10-year, $15 million contract for United States and Chelsea star Catarina Macario who this year signed with Nike in a deal lauded as a new benchmark for women’s football.
