Fans have called out Kim Kardashian for a Photoshop fail in a photo from the Met Gala.
Kim, 41, channelled Marilyn Monroe by wearing the actress’s iconic dress from when she sang Happy Birthday to John F. Kennedy in 1962.
Fans are still talking about the ensemble on fashion’s biggest night, as she continues to share photos from the evening, The Sun reports.
But some took issue with one picture, as the reality star appeared to have edited her legs in the gown.
The photo captured Kardashian from behind as she walked up the Met Gala stairs with her boyfriend, Pete Davidson.
One Reddit user pointed out the discrepancy, posting side-by-side snaps to compare the altered photo and the original Getty image, showing her legs seemed to have been photoshopped in the one Kardashian shared.
In the original shot, there is a natural curvature in her leg, showing her bending her knees to climb the stairs.
Meanwhile, the curve disappeared in the seemingly edited photo, capturing the SKIMS founder with two straight legs.
The user who pointed out the mishap wrote: “My new hobby is looking at what silly stuff Kim edits from the professional event photos for her Instagram.”
Others mocked the picture edit.
“Her knees? I actually think they look better in the Getty image! Also dear god that dress does not fit her, ugh,” one person wrote.
“I’m embarrassed for her,” another agreed.
“Her left calf now has muscle!” a third remarked, while a fourth had a similar comment, writing: “Her knee disappeared!”
Backlash over iconic dress
Kardashian faced backlash after wearing the historic gown as many felt she decreased its value with her red carpet appearance.
One concerned fan raised the question in the comments of one of the star’s posts from the night.
“Does the dress now decrease its (symbolic, economic) value?
“Because Marilyn not being the last person who’s worn it … Just curious,” they asked.
The question led to a mixed bag of responses as one person said: “She definitely cheapens it. This move has me heated, sorry.
“On Marilyn it was breathtaking, on this one it’s just another tight dress.”
Another added: “It probably depends on who the buyer is (if it is auctioned again).
“But for the general public? Yeah, honestly I’d say it kind of loses a bit of its magic and specialness.”
While a third chimed responded: “Yes, 100 per cent it does.”
Others thought it was a positive move for the dress as one wrote: “I think it absolutely increases its value. It has been brought back to relevance and public knowledge – so many people weren’t aware of the dress before and know it has become famous, again.”
Fitting nightmare
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has been feeling the heat since wearing the famous dress, even accused of damaging the gown.
Previously, she told Vogue correspondent at the Met Gala, LaLa Anthony: “I tried it on, and it didn’t fit me. And so I looked at it, and I said, ‘Give me three weeks.’”
“I had to lose 16 pounds [7kg] to be able to fit this, but it was such a challenge. I was determined to fit it.”
Since then, more reports have emerged that in the end the dress didn’t fit and the back had to be left open on the night.
As a result, it has been reported the SKIMS founder covered the gaping back with a vintage white coat. According to sources, the star wore the original dress on the red carpet but quickly changed into a replica afterwards for comfort purposes.
