DECKCHAIR Cinema has pulled off a major coup, getting international star Simon Baker to attend its premiere of new Australian film High Ground.

DECKCHAIR Cinema has pulled off a major coup, getting international star Simon Baker to attend its premiere of new Australian film High Ground.

The actor will walk the red carpet at the Darwin Entertainment Centre and take part in a discussion alongside director Stephen Maxwell Johnson, actor Jacob Junior Nayinngul, actor and producer Witiyana Marika and producer Maggie Miles.

The film follows a young Aboriginal man, Gutjuk (Nayinngul) as he teams up with ex-soldier Travis (Baker) to track down Baywara (Sean Mununggurr), the most dangerous warrior in the Territory, in a bid to save the last of his family.

“We’re incredibly excited. (Simon’s) a huge household name, so getting him to Darwin is just incredible,” Deckchair general manager James Parker said.
