The Queen reportedly laid down the law to Prince Harry over Meghan Markle’s pre-wedding meltdown as experts labelled the couple’s NYC visit “vacuous” and “nauseating”.

The Queen’s alleged brutal slap down of Meghan over the Duchess’ pre-wedding tiara tantrum has been retold.

The Duchess of Sussex was widely reported to have had a meltdown in the days before her wedding to Prince Harry after being told a tiara she wanted to wear at the ceremony wouldn’t be available for her.

Her behaviour was deemed so unacceptable that news of it soon found its way back to the Queen, according to royal author Andrew Morton, who retells the story in an updated edition of his book Meghan: A Hollywood Princess.

The furious monarch is reported to have snapped to Prince Harry in her typically to-the-point style “She gets what tiara she’s given by me” – firmly putting the demanding Duchess back in her place.

It comes as royal experts have dubbed the Suxesses’ recent New York tour “vacuous and nauseating”.

The couple spoke at the star-studded Global Citizen Live concert in New York last weekend.

Royal author Penny Junor, 71, told The Sun: “I do think this is hypocrisy. I’m sure there were plenty of scheduled flights.”

Meanwhile Angela Levin, Prince Harry’s biographer, said their stage appearance was “nauseating”.

“Harry was like a cheerleader, or master of ceremonies, whipping up the crowd with shouts of ‘Come on, we want this!’ and the crowd yelling ‘Yeah!’ and Meghan chipping in with, ‘It’s got to happen,’” she said.

“When the reality is they are not experts about Covid or climate change. It’s all so vacuous and superficial, and aimed at a US audience that’s lapping it all up.”

MEGHAN’S SECRET TRIBUTE TO ARCHIE, LILIBET

Meanwhile, Archie and Lilibet may not have been on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s recent New York tour, but their mum paid them a secret tribute.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted the mum-of-two was wearing a gold bracelet which featured their names.

Their monikers were engraved on the beautiful band as Meghan visited the United Nations on Saturday.

One royal fan said on Twitter: “Her personalised jewellery is so cute. I love how everything has sentimental value.”

While another added: “Cute. Meghan is really a sweetheart.”

Alongside the golden band, the Duchess wore Princess Diana’s $A32,000 gold Cartier watch and a $A11,000 Cartier Love bracelet, which we’ve seen in the past.

The three-day tour saw Meghan and Prince Harry undertake visits to the World Trade Centre Memorial, Harlem’s PS 123 Mahalia Jackson school, a Covid concert and to the United Nations.

It’s not the first time Meghan has paid tribute to her two children with her jewellery.

Meghan released a video in honour of her 40th birthday and her necklaces had a very poignant secret meaning.

The Duchess of Sussex wore two astrological necklaces from LA brand Logan Hollowell, which featured the star sign constellations of Archie and Lilibet.

Archie, two, was born on May 6, 2019, which makes him a Taurus, and Meghan is wearing the corresponding necklace, which is worth $2150.

Meanwhile, Lilibet was born on June 4 this year, making her a Gemini, with her constellation necklace setting Meghan back $2400, bringing the total of the two necklaces to $A4500

During the New York tour, Archie and Lilibet were said to remain at their $A20 million mansion in Santa Barbara, California.
