Iconic film star Shirley MacLaine’s rare public outing

Legendary Hollywood star Shirley MacLaine, 90, made a rare public appearance in Malibu on Sunday just weeks after her birthday.

Legendary actress Shirley MacLaine, 90, made a rare public appearance in Malibu on Sunday.

The Hollywood icon had lunch at Kristy’s Village Cafe, which she also visited on the Fourth of July.

MacLaine wore a blue shirt with a zip-up jacket, black pants and red shoes. She also sported glasses and carried a small black purse.

A younger man accompanying MacLaine let the actress hold onto his arm as they walked outside. MacLaine went to the same restaurant with a friend for lunch earlier this month.

MacLaine, who was recently seen quietly celebrating her 90th birthday, has enjoyed a career that’s spanned a whopping eight decades.

During that time she’s won herself an Oscar, an Emmy and six Golden Globe awards.

The beloved star is preparing to release a book that will look back at some of her incredible achievements throughout her illustrious career on-screen.

The book, titled The Wall of Life, will be released on October 22, 2024.

“I have lived a wonderful life and I wanted to share it, all of the photos brought back such wonderful memories,” she said in an interview with People.

“About 45 years ago, I put ten or so framed photographs of friends and family and people I’ve worked with all grouped together on a living room wall.

“Everyone who came over loved to look at this montage, and so The Wall of Life was born.

“I’m pleased to share a selection of these photos — and some of the stories behind them — in this book,” added the icon.

Meanwhile, MacLaine recently began filming her upcoming movie, People Not Places.

She has continued to be prominent in both film and TV, with an impressive 77 acting credits to her name.

The star shot to fame in the 50s.

MacLaine’s decision to keep working into her old age is something important to the star, who previously said how grateful she is “that I can keep working.”

“I have my friends and I am really healthy,” she revealed, sharing that her background with dance has helped in many ways over the years.

“I started my dance training at age three and stopped at about 67. It taught me discipline, loving music, working with people and dealing with pain,” added MacLaine.

The showbiz veteran first got her start on Broadway as a teenager, before hitting it big in Hollywood in the latter years of the Golden Age, making her film debut in the 1955 movie The Trouble with Harry.
