Hugh Jackman spotted enjoying a swim in Bondi as actor returns home for Christmas

Hugh Jackman has been spotted at a touristy beach amid his return home for the Christmas holidays, where he told locals it was “heaven” to be back in Australia.

It’s been a blockbuster year for Hugh Jackman, who is now enjoying some well-earned downtime in Australia for the Christmas holidays

The Australian actor, 56, was spotted enjoying a swim in Bondi on Sunday, where he told a local photographer it was “heaven” to be back on home soil.

Jackman, whose Marvel film Deadpool & Wolverine made a staggering $US1.338 billion at the global box office after its July release, was also with his rarely-seen children Oscar, 24, and Ava, 19, with the trio later sighted grabbing a coffee together.

Jackman, who is likely staying at his Bondi penthouse which he purchased in 2015, shares Oscar and Ava with ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

The pair announced their amicable separation in September last year after 27 years marriage.

It’s not known if the family will be spending Christmas together, with Furness, 69, understood to be overseas.

Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports have been swirling for months Jackman has since struck up a relationship with US actress Sutton Foster, 49.

The pair, who have known each other for years, co-starred in The Music Man on Broadway from late 2021 until January 2023.

In October, Foster filed for divorce from her Ocean’s Eleven screenwriter husband Ted Griffin, 53, after 10 years of marriage.

The actress and Griffin were married in Santa Barbara in 2014 and adopted their daughter Emily in 2017.

While neither Jackman or Sutton have commented on their relationship, a friend of Furness’ made a telling claim on Instagram in November.

British actress and photographer Amanda de Cadenet left a comment on a social media video that alleged Jackman left his wife to be with Foster.

“You are on point with this one,” de Cadenet claimed in response. “My beloved friend Deb is about to have her glow up any moment FYI!”

The Australian actor and ex-wife Deborra-Lee Furness announced their split in September 2023.

In 2022, the Younger star raved about Jackman during an interview with Vogue.

“He has an impeccable reputation of being the hardest-working man, incredibly kind, and generous — and all of that is true,” Foster said at the time.

“He disarms everyone, and he doesn’t make anything about him.”

For his part, Jackman praised Foster on Instagram before The Music Man opened back in 2021, saying the show would be “nothing” without her.

“You’re an exceptional talent and friend,” he added. “Your joy brings the entire company of @musicmanbway to life.”
