Gwyneth Paltrow’s dad, Bruce Paltrow, told her she was ‘kind of an a**hole’
GWYNETH Paltrow has revealed her beloved father, Bruce Paltrow, told her that she was “kind of a a**hole’ before he died.

GWYNETH Paltrow is one of those celebrities that many people love to hate.
With her overpriced website Goop to her comments on nutrition — she once said she would “rather die than let my kids eat Cup-a-Soup” — much of her advice tends to rub people up the wrong way.
Now, she has revealed her beloved father, Bruce Paltrow, told her that she was “kind of an a**hole” before he died.
The 44-year-old told Harper’s Bazaar that her dad gave her a reality check not long after she won the Best Actress Academy Award for Shakespeare in Love and was “very much believing my own hype.”
“I was sitting with my dad, feeling great about my life and everything that was happening, and he was like, ‘You know, you’re getting a little weird ... You’re kind of an a**hole.’ And I was like, ‘What the hell?’’
“I was totally devastated. But it turned out to be basically the best thing that ever happened to me,” she added. “What my dad said to me was the kind of criticism where I was like, ‘Oh, my God, I’m on the wrong track.’ I’m so grateful to him for doing that,” she said.
Paltrow told Access Hollywood last year that her dad “was kind of the love of my life.”
Bruce Paltrow, a director and producer, passed away in 2002 of complications from oral cancer and pneumonia.
He was married to Gwyneth’s mum, Blythe Danner from 1969 until his death and the couple have another son, Jake.
Paltrow is a mother to Apple, 12, and Moses, 10, with former husband Chris Martin.
