A popular Aussie DJ has been forced to cancel two New York shows as he rushes to hospital to be by his wife’s side.
Gold Coast DJ Paul Fisher was booked to perform in New York this coming weekend, but in an Instagram post from Thursday, Mr Fisher revealed his wife Chloe was admitted to hospital last week for a possible “preterm labour”.
“As you know our baby is due in June, however last week my wife Chloe was admitted to the hospital here in Australia with possible preterm labour on the horizon,” he said.
“Chloe and the baby are in good health and being monitored.
“However, I need to be in Australia with her until we know further details.
“As a result, we will need to postpone the New York shows set for this weekend.”
Fisher, who performs all over the world, counts 1.9 million followers on Instagram.
Numerous posts celebrate the couple’s excitement about welcome their little one into the world.
“Our permanent plus 1 joining the fisher tour next year let’s go baby,” Fisher wrote on December 23 alongside his wife showing off a baby bump.
The popular DJ said the New York shows would be moved to July 5 and July 6, with all previously purchased tickets honoured for the new dates.
“Appreciate everyone’s support and understanding,” he said.
The baby drama coincided with the Out 2 Lunch festival on the Gold Coast’s Coolangatta Beach last Saturday.
“Such a surreal moment for me right now,” Fisher said.
“30,000 on my home turf can’t explain the feelings I have.”
