Former Cake drummer Peter Ivan McNeal jailed for 15 years for molesting three-year-old girl
A FORMER drummer for the band Cake, who had a hit in Australia with the song Going the Distance, has been jailed for 15 years for molesting a toddler.

FORMER Cake drummer Peter Ivan McNeal has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for molesting a 3-year-old girl.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office released the news regarding the 48-year-old rocker on Tuesday, reports E! News.
McNeal was found guilty in March 2013 on one count of oral sex and penetration with a child 10 years or younger.
The incident occurred on thanksgiving in 2009 at a Laurel Canyon home where McNeal was celebrating.
Drummer Magazine reports McNeal has a history of molestation. Two weeks following his thanksgiving encounter, McNeal attempted to molest a 6-year-old child while volunteering at a Los Angeles school.
The rocker was charged with a misdemeanour and was sentenced to three years probation following that incident.
McNeal, whose recording credits include Norah Jones’s 2009 album The Fall, hasn’t played with Cake since 2004.
A request for comment from the band was not immediately returned.
