Elle Fanning hits red carpet in daring ‘necklace’ top

Elle Fanning made a very daring – and risky – entrance on the red carpet at the sixth annual InStyle awards.

The biggest stars in Hollywood have hit the red carpet with their best high-fashion looks for this year’s InStyle Awards.

There were plenty of sequins, embellishments and bold patterns – but Elle Fanning managed to steal the show with an incredibly risque Balmain ensemble, which featured a top made up of only a giant gold and diamond necklace.

The outfit, which featured a very useful thin chain across the back to hold it in place, was paired with a full-length black skirt.

The 23-year-old accessorised with thick gold rings, also by Balmain, a bold red lip and sleek, straight hair.

Fanning – most well-known for her roles as the young princess in Maleficent and as Catherine the Great in The Great – was attending the sixth annual InStyle Awards in Los Angeles, California.

The star is the younger sister of award-winning actress Dakota Fanning, 27, star of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Ocean’s 8.

She posed for pictures throughout the evening with other celebrities, including Kate Hudson, who was dressed in an eye-catching floor-length gold sequined Michael Kors gown.

Nicole Kidman was dressed to the nines in an embellished purple sleeveless Armani Privé dress.

Mother-and-daughter model duo Cindy Crawford and Kaia Gerber were spotted at the event, in Alexander McQueen and Missoni, respectively.

Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor, 26, opted for a feminine, frilled Louis Vuitton mint satin mini-dress.

Meanwhile, Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr and Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale were dressed in Louis Vuitton for the star-studded evening.

The InStyle Awards, which is this year celebrating its sixth annual event, attracts the biggest names in fashion and entertainment to the Getty Centre in Los Angeles, to honour Hollywood’s most stylish figures.

Acclaimed fashion mogul Michael Kors this year took home the coveted Designer Award. Ahead of his moment on stage, several celebrities hit the red carpet in his garments, including Reese Witherspoon, Lori Harvey and Kate Hudson.
