It’s 2025 and the Duke and Duchess of Sussexes’ latest multimillion-dollar six-part Netflix doco is released.
Meghan, dressed in her favourite colour beige, on her favourite designer beige sofa, looks down the barrel of the camera.
“It was implied that I shouldn’t go,” Meghan says, wiping away a lone tear.
“I mean they said in no uncertain, heavily hinted terms that I shouldn’t be there.
“This is our truth and it needs to be told.”
Harry, puts a comforting hand on Meghan’s knee. She grabs his hand and squeezes it tightly and doesn’t let go.
Interviewer: “Who told you that exactly?”
“The Firm. Those horrid men in grey that run the institution. But we know for a fact it was all Camilla’s doing. She was briefing them against us.”
Harry with a resigned grimace on his face.
“They knew that Meghan would be the star of the show, the one everyone wanted to see and that she would overshadow the coronation.
“The whole thing was deliberately planned to make it impossible for her to go.
“I mean fancy holding it on Archie’s birthday? They would never have organised it on the birthday of one of Willy’s children. But then again, I am the spare. I have always come second in this family.”
Meghan looks intently at Harry, with a sad, but sympathetic smile, her hands clasped around his, before returning her gaze to the camera.
“Being a mom to my prince and princess is my most important job.
“I didn’t want my little prince to think there was someone more important than him, like the King, that might overshadow his special day.
“They knew that, which is why I had to stay behind to host his party with all our closest celebrity friends.”
Harry takes a deep breath.
“Of course, while my family is definitely not racist, like the press have misquoted us saying before, they’ve got a lot of therapy and work to do around their unconscious bias. If Meghan was not a person of colour this never would have happened.”
A weary Buckingham Palace spokesman commenting on the couple’s $100m Netflix deal, said: “Recollections may vary”.
